Family Programming at the 2018 Florida Film Festival

Organized around the center of Florida in April, the Florida Film Festival presents more than 180 features and short films from 40 countries, and more celebrities, special events, film forums and parties. This year's festival includes films that compete in narrative films and long documentaries and special screenings of culinary films, musicals, experimental short films, international films, midnight movies in Florida.While focusing primarily on adult films, in keeping with its annual tradition, the Florida Film Festival also offers a range of family programs with new independent films produced for young people. In addition, the Spotlight Films category contains another film that children can enjoy - a documentary about Fred Rogers and his long-running television series, Mister Rogers' Neighborhood.Family programmingThe Big Bad Fox and other stories ...In his first Southeast of the Florida Film Festival, this adaptation of the director of the graphic novel includes a 2D animation drawn by hand. The film is composed of three different stories presented as a work by Honeysuckle Farm Theater Company. Full of non-stop action and eccentric talking animals, each story has a farm with animals reappearing that includes a hen, a pig, a duck, a rabbit and a fox. The film is in French with English subtitles, but the universal action represented on the screen tells its own story of cooperation and understanding that goes beyond words. Duration: 83 minutes MPAA Rating: G.Read on the wallLocated in a small Japanese fishing village, this animated film tells the story of Kai, 14, a son of divorced parents who recently retired from music to deal with his pain. When he joined a practice group on Triton Island, Kai met Lu, an energetic full siren and with magnificent voice to sing. When the villager suspects realize Lu, they are torn between wanting to use it to revive the fishing village and fear its presence because of a legendary curse. The film, full of live and flowing Japanese anime music, looks at the young mermaid magical changes not only the life of a child, but a whole people. Directed by Masaaki Yuasa. Barrio his Mr. Rogers television series lasted more than three decades, often using puppets to deliver his messages. His inclusive idea that we all belong to a global district was way ahead of his time. Directed by Morgan Neville, winner of an Oscar.
